Artist's Description
I was about to go biking when I looked up & saw this phenomenon & ran back into the house to get my camera. After shooting it for about 5 minutes, I continued on my bike ride. It was up there the whole 1/2 hour I was riding. This was taken in Chesterfield, MO in July 2009. The circular rainbow is caused by high cirrus clouds that you can barely see in the picture. The lower cumulous clouds conveniently blocked the sun enough for me to photograph it.
